SATO Label printers - Configuration guide

directprint.io supports SATO label printers via the SATO SBPL or Zebra EPL driver (SEPL mode).

 

SATO device setup

If your SATO label writer is set to AUTODETECT the label language format, e.g. displaying AUTO, on the front of the machine or reporting as lanuage autodetcting from the SATO web administration portal then choosing the directprint.io SBPL mode will not require any configuration changed to the unit.

If your unit is configured for a specific language (e.g. SZPL) please change the unit to AUTO or SBPL or SEPL modes accordingly.

  1. Add the SATO label writer using the 'Add a receipt or Label printer' wizard: https://directprint.io/admin/printers/newPOS
  2. Select 'SATO SBPL' or 'Zebra ZPL' as the device make and model, depending on the language support of the SATO Label printer.
  3. Click 'Add printer'
  4. Navigate to the 'Advanced settings' for the newly created printer.
  5. Add SATO -> Label -> Label Printers (...) option to the settings.

6 . Important: Under printer config, select: DPI -> FORCE -> 305DPI

This will ensure that labels are rendered at the correct size.

If labels misprint or are rotated, FORCE the rotation to 90 or 270 degrees as required:
